Major stormwater project nears completion

The North Douglas Creek Channel Restoration project is nearing completion. It's a major achievement in the continued efforts to improve the City’s stormwater system and part Colorado Springs' committment to spend $460 million over the next two decades to enhance public safety, provide improved water detention, improve water quality, and reduce flows, including the amount of sediment that flows downstream.

Colorado Springs “TOPS” Program to add over 1,000 acres of open space to City’s east side

City Council unanimously approved a major addition of open space property for the Trails, Open Space and Parks (TOPS) Program. The 1,118-acre "Wild Horse Ranch" property is located in the Corral Bluffs Candidate Open Space on the city’s eastside. The property unlocks several significant connections, including between Corral Bluffs and Bluestem Prairie open spaces. 

City’s Sports Office teams up with the Police Department and SCHEELS to keep kids kicking

The Colorado Springs Police Department and SCHEELS have teamed up to give all of the 1,450 players registered to play soccer through the City’s sports office this spring their very own soccer ball. Throughout March, officers will visit practice locations citywide to deliver the balls and spend time with the kids.
