Earth Day is Tuesday, April 22 and the public is invited to participate in a variety of events and initiatives aimed at promoting environmental awareness and community engagement throughout Colorado Springs. From city-wide clean-ups to educational workshops, residents and visitors will have several free opportunities to celebrate Earth Day. More information on each event is outlined below.

Three Parks. Three Days

  • April 25, 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Blodgett Open Space
  • April 26, 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Palmer Park 
  • April 27, 9 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Ute Valley Park

The fourth annual Three Parks. Three Days is a clean-up event organized by the Friends of Peregrine Parks & Open Spaces, Guardians of Palmer Park and the Friends of Ute Valley Park. This year, volunteers will help remove invasive plants, restore trails, reseed and help clean up trash in Blodgett Open Space, Palmer Park and Ute Valley Park. All skill levels are encouraged to participate.

Interested volunteers can get more information at Three Parks. Three Days I Volunteer Sign Up. Volunteers should wear sturdy outdoor clothes, including durable shoes or boots, eye protection and work gloves. 

28th Annual Garden of the Gods Earth Day Celebration

April 19, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Garden of the Gods Visitor & Nature Center (1805 N. 30th St.) 

Note: Free parking will be available at the Garden of the Gods Visitor and Nature Center with additional parking in Parking Lot 1 at the corner of Gateway Road and 30th Street. Please note, Parking Lot 4 remains closed for the waterline project.

The 28th Annual Garden of the Gods Earth Day Celebration will feature interactive activities for attendees of all ages including live demonstrations, educational booths, crafts and live animal experiences.

The free annual event aims to celebrate Earth Day by providing family fun and education about the environment through green thinking and living.

Keep America Beautiful Great American Cleanup

May 3, 9 a.m. to noon, more than 20 sites in the Pikes Peak Region

Join the Fountain Creek Watershed District for the 2025 Keep America Beautiful Great American Cleanup event. Volunteers can register for a cleanup event at more than 20 sites throughout the Pikes Peak region, including several City trails and parks. Trash bags and safety vests will be provided at each site, but participants should plan ahead by wearing durable shoes or boots and work gloves. Participants under the age of 16 must be supervised by an adult.
